Development is going a bit slow right now 😦
I have a few more things added in, such as more precise progress reports (when moving files to another hdd), “Look up on IMDB” function and some smaller fixes, is there anything you’d really like to see in the next version? I probably won’t do larger tasks right now, although most useful things I can think of would require a bit more work.
In a longer timespan I would like to integrate
-Automatic extraction from archives and deleting those archives afterwards
-Figure out if there are newer episodes available (aired and/or downloadable)
-Get names for movies from webpages too
-Proper subtitle download support
I’d really like to see those features, but I have no idea if and when I will be able to work on those, but hey, it’s open source, anyone who’s interested is invited to help!

It’s been a while and I must admit that I’ve been unfaithful!
I’ve discovered http://www.tvrename.com/, it basically has the same features but a bit wider and quicker in the directory scan.
I think the way this project should progress is in the features you where addressing above. Maybe focus towards movies?

I’ll check it out later, not sure when I can work on my program the next time, I’m pretty busy most of the time…

I finally tested that program.
It has some interesting ideas, but I found its handling to be very tedious and counterintuitive.
Apart from that, I also had a bug which made it hang 😛
Showing the Series Air dates is a pretty nice feature though.

Hi, in version 0.9.7 i cannot rename subtitles anymore: “get titles” recognizes season, episode, etc, but when i click on “rename” it doesn’t rename anything, only moves the files in the right directory.

You’re right, after Get Titles function has been used, srt file names aren’t updated.
I’m not actively working on this project right now, since I got enough other things on my mind, but I hope I’ll be able to continue it sometime, or maybe someone else is willing to work on it?
I’ll add it to the bugtracker 😉

Another thing, which would be nice.
If i rename a half completed serie, SR should remember from where i got the info the next time i try to rename the rest. Sometimes i have to look a while from where he got the info. So i would like to not have to spend that much time the next time i rename the rest.

It currently remembers the previously selected search result, but not the webpage used to get the info from.
I’m not actively developing this program right now since I don’t have that much time, but I might consider it if I resume development.

Bleh, it’s the best SR program out there.
But well, some things are just way more important than a freeware program, so i can understand you.

I would really like to continue working on it, but I just don’t have the time 😦
I’m currently working on adding lots of features to windows and especially the explorer to make them more useful, but most of the time is drawn by real life 😉

I’m pretty busy with other things unfortunately, I hope to be able to pick up development sometime in the future again, but I’m not too sure.
However, as this is open source I welcome anyone who wants to continue the work on this program, so spread the word! 😉

I’m currently spending all my programming time on 7plus. It might be possible that I will continue this project after I finish everything that I have planned for 7plus, but I wouldn’t count on it, as I still have many plans for it. I expect it to take atleast a year or so. so I won’t make any statement on it. If anyone is willling to continue it, I would be happy to set him up with the details.

I know atm you are out of time to do anything with the SR, but maybe it’s easy and fast for you to fix a little bug. It’s not possible anymore to get data from Serienjunkie.de, there is allways an error message:

(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.
Zum Beispiel:
Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten
Ausnahmen an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem
Computer registriert ist, und nicht in diesem Dialogfeld behandelt.

I suppose they changed something in their page layout which caused this. If you’re familiar with html and regular expressions, you could try editing the config file for that page.
I’d really like to help you, but for now my other project (7plus) has preference, and even there my time is a bit limited.

Please decide whether to use german or english 😉
Series Renamer isn’t in active development by me atm, so changes on the webpages of the title providers might break the functionality here.
If anyone knows regular expressions and wants to fix it, feel free to do so, the required expressions are stored in the config files.

i used the delete button thinking it was a clear list type button lost 4 series.. and they wasnt in recyle bin to rescue either.. 😦

Sorry to hear that. You can try to use file restoration programs though. If you didn’t move or copy much files around on that harddisk you might be successful in recovering them.

Just wanting to say: It’s still the best renamer out there imho. And if you at any time continue with development: it would be nice if you can enter the series-ID from TheTVDB.com in the search window 😉

Unfortunately it seems as Serie Renamer stopped working – it would be great if you could have a look – I would miss it 😉 – or open the source?
